As directed by the referring physician, depending on the kind of test, you may require to be fasting overnight for a number of tests.
Empty stomach for 2 – 3 hours prior to scan.
Empty stomach for 2 – 3 hours and few glasses of water prior to the scan.
Few glasses of water before the scan, holding urine for 1 – 2 hours. You don't need to be empty stomach for these scans.
Fasting with proper bowl preparation, as suggested by the physician.
